COMMUTER FSA
You can also participate in one or both tax-free Commuter FSAs that allow you to save money on the cost of commuting to work.
Mass Transit account— allows you to set aside up to $ 340 per month in tax-free dollars to pay for mass transit and / or vanpool costs to commute to work. The Commuter Transit Subsidy Program is used to pay for public transit— including Metro rail, Metro bus, and eligible vanpools as part of your daily commute to work. MWAA provides a subsidy of up to $ 220 per month, not to exceed your monthly commuting expenses. If you drive and park on MWAA property, you are not eligible for mass transit.
Parking Reimbursement account— allows you to set aside up to $ 340 per month in tax-free dollars to pay the cost of parking at work, carpool or vanpool lot, Metro station, and other work-related parking.
If you want to enroll, change or discontinue your Commuter FSA, you must make the election by the 10th of the month prior to the month start date. For example, you must act by February 10th, to affect your March 1 benefit.
ELECTING YOUR COMMUTER FSA BENEFITS
STEP 1: Go to www. optumfinancial. com
STEP 2: Click Sign in or Register
Sign in- Use your credentials for myuhc. com if you already have a username and password there.
Register- Select a username and password if you are not already registered at myuhc. com.
If you are enrolled in a Healthcare FSA and have an Optum debit card, you will need the card number to complete signing in or registering
STEP 3: Click Optum Financial
STEP 4: Click Manage My Commuter Benefits, under Commuter Benefits
STEP 5: Click Elect Benefits or Order Now
STEP 6: Click Elect Benefit. Reminder: Deadline for completing the task is the 10th of each month
STEP 7: Click Select, next to Passes, Tickets and Parking
STEP 8: Click Select, next to your FSA Commuter Benefit. Mass Transit is the Public & Shared Transportation( Train, Bus, Vanpool, Ferry) and / or Parking to continue your enrollment
STEP 9: Click Select for the option you want to enroll in. If you are electing Smartrip as your election, your Smartrip card MUST be registered in your name at WMATA
STEP 10: Click on Next: Review Order- If correct, then click on " I have read and agree to the terms of service " then click Elect Benefits. Click View Details if you need to make a change, use the Delete or Edit to manage your election
If you need help enrolling in a commuter benefit, call Optum at 844-881-7147.
NOTE: If you do not have a Scheduled Activity on your dashboard, then you are not enrolled.
