You can also participate in one or both tax-free Commuter FSAs that allow you to save money on the cost of commuting to work.
Mass Transit account— allows you to set aside up to $ 340 per month in tax-free dollars to pay for mass transit and / or vanpool costs to commute to work. The Commuter Transit Subsidy Program is used to pay for public transit— including Metro rail, Metro bus, and eligible vanpools as part of your daily commute to work. MWAA provides a subsidy of up to $ 220 per month, not to exceed your monthly commuting expenses. If you drive and park on MWAA property, you are not eligible for mass transit.
Parking Reimbursement account— allows you to set aside up to $ 340 per month in tax-free dollars to pay the cost of parking at work, carpool or vanpool lot, Metro station, and other work-related parking.

SAVE MONEY BY PARTICIPATING IN BENEFIT ACCOUNTS Are your out-of-pocket health care, dependent care and transportation costs rising? Taxadvantaged benefit accounts are a great way for you to save your hard-earned money. These accounts can include:
• Health care flexible spending accounts( FSAs)
• Dependent care flexible spending accounts( DCAs)
• Commuter accounts( transit / parking)
NO“ USE IT OR LOSE IT” RULE
If you do not use all the money in your Commuter FSA you may roll over leftover funds to use the next year. And, you can change your contribution amount at any time, including stopping your contributions( for example, when you are on vacation or medical leave). However, you cannot contribute more than the IRS limit.
If you want to enroll, change your Commuter FSA contributions or discontinue your participation, you must make the election by the 10th of the month prior to the month when you want the election to start.
MULTIPLE BENEFIT ACCOUNTS, ONE CARD In the event that you have multiple benefit accounts, you need only one benefits debit card. Our technology understands which purchases should be applied to any one of your accounts. If your card is swiped at your child’ s daycare, the funds will be deducted from your dependent care FSA. Buy a train token automatically with funds from your transit account. It’ s one smart card!
YOUR CARD IS RELOADABLE If you enroll for Mass Transit or Parking expenses, your card will be reloaded each month with the amount you’ ve designated for mass transit and / or parking expenses, or you can reload your card yourself using the contact information printed on your card
HOW LONG IS MY CARD VALID? As long as you do not have a break in participation, you can use your card for three years until the expiration date printed on it. If you are still a participant when your card expires, a new card will be automatically mailed to you.
